On behalf of the Hyperbolics First Lego League team from Sterling School/Charles Townes Center first let us thank you for the tremendous support you have planned to provide us. The team has progressed in our efforts to “Get The Lead Out” from the state of South Carolina. As a result of time and assistance from Sponsors like you, not only is legislation in the proposal process for the S. C. State Legislature(H.5141) but also our competition project, as well as robot performance and core values work, helped us achieve the 1st Place Champions Award at the S.C. State West FLL Robotics Tournament on February 6, 2016.
We also have had the opportunity to participate in the FLL Arkansas Razorback Invitational held at the University of Arkansas in May, 2016. At this event, we will interact with other FLL teams from across the country, and internationally. This opportunity for additional education on the adversity of lead wheel weights is extraordinary and we look forward to representing South Carolina at this event. Here we continued to advocate for the ban on lead wheel weights in the international tournament setting. Finally we won 1st Place Core Values Award at internationals.
